About

Hi, I'm Karl.

I'm a freelance web designer and developer based in York, building websites for small businesses and sole traders across Yorkshire who want a professional online presence without the agency price tag or the runaround.

My first client project was a full website for Sarah, a beauty therapist and permanent jewellery artist in York, built entirely from scratch, with a custom admin panel, dynamic shop, and everything needed to get a new business in front of customers. I enjoyed the process so much that I decided to make it what I do.

I build everything by hand. No page builders, no bloated templates. That means sites that are fast, secure, accessible, and genuinely tailored to the business they represent.

Alongside client work, I've been building Candlewise, a cosy logic puzzle game coming to Android soon. It's a side project, but building something with real logic and state teaches you things that carry straight back into the web work.

If you've got a project in mind, I'd be happy to hear about it.
